Trunk Detailing

Rear cargo area of a customers vehicle fetailed by Fifty Dollar Detail, Ridgefield, WA.

Trunk Detailing

In the second step we removed all the removable parts from the vehicle, that should have included items from the trunk or cargo area such as the spare tire, jack, lug wrench, trunk mat, etc.  So at this point the only things in the trunk should be carpet panels along the sides (if any) and the opening for the spare tire.

The carpet  panels on the sides, or on some vehicles the underside of the trunk lid, would have been cleaned along with the interior carpets and fabrics.   So, that only leaves cleaning the  spare tire well and any plastic panels and we clean them the same way we cleaned the interior - scrub and wipe with a clean wet cloth.

The reason I clean the spare is so my customer doesn't get dirty the next time they are out on the town and  blow out a tire, it's bad enough having to change a tire let alone ruining your clothes because your jack is covered in grease or your spare still has brake dust on it from the last time you had a blow out.  I also check the air pressure in the spare and make sure all the jacking equipment is there and working.
