Mr. Harley Davidson Road Glide had me perform a detail on his motorcycle a few days before I began detailing motorcycles at Love Leathers Outpost in Ridgefield, Washington.  So, this was my very first motorcycle detail ever and my practice run for the upcoming days at Love Leathers Outpost.  I approached the Harley Davidson Road Glide just as I would have any vehicle I was going to detail.  I divided the motorcycle into sections and broke up all the things that had to be done into steps, that way I could work one step at a time or one section at a time.  I quickly learned a few tricks in order to reach deep inside some of the narrower spots around to engine, blowing the motorcycle dry with my shop vac has been by far the best trick I came up with.  It wasn't until later while doing some research on the internet did I find that blowing your motorcycle dry is recommended by nearly every professional motorcycle detailer, it makes sense!  I did acquire a few more tricks from researching the internet, but most of my technique has been adapted hands on.

The tricky part on this particular motorcycle was the hand painted graphics that could not be replaced, even touching them up would look really obvious.  The artist, who is a tatoo artist by trade, put a lot of time into these hand painted graphics, so I was sure to be extra careful around them.

The Harley Davidson Road Glide came out perfect and Mr. Harley Davidson Road Glide has had me detail this motorcycle twice more since the first time, just because he loves to ride it when it's shiny!
