My "no pressure" method requires only degreaser and a brush , a hand wash, no pressure rinse, blow dry, paint polished, and rubber and plastic treated with U.V. spray.
I do not use a pressure washer unless the engine is heavily contaminated or the customer specifically requests. 95% of the vehicles I detail do not need a lot of pressure on sensitive engine components in order to be cleaned, and by blowing the engine dry immediatley after rinsing I elliminate water damaging electrical components as well.
I also do not use any engine cleaner that has an odor to it or damages painted surfaces. I find the degreaser used for the jams and wheel wells works just as well without any odor or dangerous run off from rinsing.
I do spray U.V. protectant on all rubber and plastic to keep it in good condition, and I spray lubricant on belts to keep them in good condition as well.
As a final precaution, all fluid levels are checked and results are given to the owner at completion.
