Lifting Motorcycle

Hydrolic jack used to lift motorcycles for detailing by Fifty Dollar Detail.

I have my own way of lifting motorcycles and I do it this way as a compromise between my anxiety and my detail performance.  Having a motorcycle lifted causes me great stress no matter how good the lift is that I'm using.

I use a hydrolic jack and only lift the front wheel. I only lift on level, solid ground, never dirt or gravel.

With the motorcycle in an upright position and level, and with the kickstand down (if possible) slide the lift under the front part of the frame.  Since we only want the front wheel off the ground about an inch, position the lift more near the front of the motorcycle.  Raise just enough to lift the front tire.  Rock motorcycle side to side just a bit to test stability.
