Some saddlebags zip right off, leaving a strap across the rear fender which they zip onto. Some bags and some storage bins have twisting locks or pens attaching them to the motorcycle and are easily removed. Some trunk storage bins have quick release levers and are also easily removed. Other types of saddlebags and luggage bins are mounted to the motorcycle. Leave these on the bike and just work around them. The reason you want to remove saddlebags is due to the limited amount of access to the rear wheel. With the way we'll be lifting the motorcycle the rear wheel cannot spin freely, so having a way to reach the top of the rear wheel is critical. Also, saddlebags and key bags are much easier to clean and condition if they are not attached to the motorcycle. | ![]() |
Most Harley Davidson's, and some import street bikes, have seats that are a one bolt system that are easily removed. If the seat is attached any more complex than that I suggest just leaving it on the motorcycle. |
